Question: Error 554
I am currently using post cast as an outgoing mail server.
Here is the problem that I am experiencing and I wonder if
your product has a way around or a fix for this without my
having to get yet another email address with someone who does
offer me an SMTP address!
These are streams from Post Cast Support: I am getting an
aol error as well. This one is "error 554" when
sending to AOL. I tried the fix reccomended which was to go
into settings and change the HELO to the IP address. Unfortunately
now not only am I still getting the same error message from
AOL, and now, someone that I know who has a known spam filter
cannot get my email, and the worst part is, now my settings
option is disabled in the tools menu so I cannot go back in
and change anything. I could use your help!

Answer:
The error 554 means Transaction failed. This is a generic
response returned by the server if an SMTP transaction failed.
This response is typically returned if too many errors were
received in processing.
We have checked it and it works well. Actually, some customers
have met the same problem as you. Everyday there are so many
people send mails to AOL, so it will screened some. If you
send too many times, it will think you are sending the junk
mails. So just wait for a period of time or change another
mailbox to try again! We'll try to find a way to solve it.
